3rd Sunday of Easter

On the Road to Emmaus, Jesus shows up and tells these downcast people that there is an answer to suffering, to all that is difficult and heartbreaking. There is nothing in this world that Jesus has not conquered or a human experience that he has not made meaningful. And yet, they still are disappointed and they invite him to stay in their house as night comes. It was only through an act of love, the Eucharist, that they were able to recognize the one who made all things meaningful. The Eucharist is the proof that Jesus is Emmanuel.
