Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Often, Lent can seem like a time for many actions and disciplines, but this is nowhere near the depth this season offers us.

The Lord wants to offer a precious gift to each of our hearts: victory! Victory over sin. Victory over the brokenness of the world. Victory over defeat and disappointment.

To receive this gift, we must allow Jesus to go beneath the surface of actions and rules to enter deeply into our hearts where he so longs to plant the seed of new life and victory.

Lent leads us to the cross, yes, but it ultimately leads to an empty grave that has given us life.

This Lent, consider how you can give Jesus space in your heart? How can I allow Jesus to actually enter into that space to place victory there? How can i work with Him to remove obstacles to this?
