All Souls

Nov 2, 2025    Fr. Alec Sasse

The effects of sin and wounds leave heavy marks on our souls. This is burned away in Purgatory where souls experience deep healing to be able to receive the fullest of the Lord's love.

Purgatory gives an inspirational image from Psalm 23, "Even thou I should walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for you are with me." In the door of death, the Lord follows right behind us. The image presented is the dark valley where the Lord leads us to heal and teach us on our path to heaven.

This feast reminds us that there is still something we can do for those who we loved who have died. We can have hope that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, was with them in death and He is with us in our hurt. We pray and bring these souls to the Father that He will take them in His hands and into His heavenly home.
