Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Reflecting on the child-like wonder of having a soundtrack for our lives, it shows a deeper desire to curate our lives. In the need to control our lives, we often play different music based on our current experiences. The desire to define our own destiny and manufacture our lives weighs on hearts.
"Improvising to the music of the harp like David, they devised their own accompaniment."
Amos calls out our complacency, comfortability, and ways in which we make our own tune, our own way. The noice, music, and distractions block out the song of God. We then chose our own soundtrack of life. The rich man in the gospel also drowns out God's voice and live in his own delusion. Amidst all this chaos, there is peace to be found.
The song of the Holy Spirit sings to us always. Love calls to give freedom, hope, and joy. This is the new song.
