Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Nov 16, 2025    Fr. Ryan Kaup

The apocalyptic literature of the gospels on these upcoming Sundays are meant to shake us. To live in the reality of where we are. If in a state of mortal sin, then to go to confession. This shaking awake is a good and natural disposition to the call of the gospel.

Jesus then calls us to something deeper right in the here and now. He wants us to come to him in the present moment without worry. Jacques Philipe says "The greatest obstacles to holiness are discouragement and worry."

We are meant to persevere and we are meant to hope. We are meant to live in the freedom of the children of God. We are meant to follow the faith, hope, and love in prayer.

When hope is not present, love grows cold. Hope for us is the practical anchor to put everything in God's hands. To stay with God, let Him love us, and draw into deeper communion with Him.
