12th Sunday in Ordinary Time
“Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?"
We too are meant to live in obedience to our God, yet we can only come to understand this rightly when we answer the above question.
Obedience is simply receiving our lives and every moment of our lives as a child receiving it all from our Father who loves us. If we can encounter everything in this way, we can see God for who He is: a good Father who wants to hold us in His arms of love. If we answer this question with Love, we are able to abandon ourselves into His hands and trust that His will is borne out of love for me.
So who is this? He is a God who loves me, who delights in me, who looks upon me and his heart is filled with joy. Unless we know we are loved, we are always going to live as slaves, but if we can open our hearts to the Father, we can abandon ourselves into his hands and live in his love and allow Him to make us a new creation.
