32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Every culture has stories of heroes. The seven brothers and their mother that died rather than betray God's law in the book of Maccabees were not heroic by the culture's standard, but by Heaven's. What in our lives do we place above God in order to be heroic by the world's standards? What compromises are we making? God asks us to have heroic faith by placing relationship with Him above the things of this world and living for Heaven.
